Rules Changes This Year

The brief is more important and will count for 33 percent of the team's score in each round.

The jury of view will consist of two professional lawyers, and the presiding justice will be the third vote in each round.

Four teams (increased from two) will advance to the final round on Sunday morning.

The Petitioner may reserve up to seven (increased from five) minutes for rebuttal.

The AMC3 Rules for 2011 will be virtually unchanged from last year.

The round-robin format in the opening round was well-received and is continued. Eight teams will advance to the semi-final round on Saturday and four to the final round on Sunday.

In the preliminary round, each team will argue twice for the Petitioner and twice for the Respondent against a variety of opponents.
